Former Edmonton Oilers forward Georges Laraque has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
Laraque, 43, announced the news in a tweet Thursday afternoon.
Originally drafted by the Oilers 31st overall in the 1995 NHL draft, Laraque played 12 years in the NHL and was known for his fighting ability. In 695 NHL games, Laraque scored 153 points and tallied 1126 PIM.
Just last month, Laraque had issued a fun little relay for fans to take part it.
