Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
After successfully navigating a bumpy path to victory last night in Anaheim, the Edmonton Oilers are back with another important Pacific Division matchup against the LA Kings. While the Oilers will be working through the second game of their back-to-back set, the Kings are getting back on the ice for the first time after their bye week. The Kings are also playing under interim head coach Jim Hiller for the first time since Todd McLellan was given the boot.
From an Oilers perspective, the team will need to turn in a much better effort tonight in LA than we got last night in Anaheim. Even though they ended up winning, there’s little doubt that the boys have more to give, and playing to their standards will be incredibly important as they square off against an opponent that’s trying to stop the bleeding. Heading into round two of the season series, the Kings are carrying a 3-5-2 record in their last 10 games and will be desperate to lock in two points against a team that’s lived rent-free in their heads over the last couple of years.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I use for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Los Angeles Kings.
Player Prop:
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins over 2.5 shots on goal at +120. My $5 bet would return $11.00.
Easy Money:
Over 1.5 total power play goals at -110. My $5 bet would return $9.54.
Risky Business:
Zach Hyman anytime goal at +130. My $5 bet would return $11.50.
Can’t Miss Parlay:
Edmonton Oilers to win and over 5.5 total goals at +175. My $5 bet would return $13.75.

Last Game
Last night was one of those games where I didn’t even think I was being overly aggressive with my betting strategy, but only one of the four bets I put down ended up working out. In the grand scheme of things, I’m happy that the Oilers won but I certainly expected that getting to that result would go a little more smoothly.
Here’s what I bet against the Ducks:
Evan Bouchard over 2.5 shots on goal at +100.Oilers over 34 shots on goal at -125.Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl both to score at +250.- Edmonton Oilers to win and Connor McDavid to register 2+ points at +110. ✅
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the LA Kings.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
