This time, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins intercepted a pass in front of Edmonton’s net and fed the puck to McDavid just outside Vancouver’s blueline. In the second period, Leon Draisaitl extended Edmonton’s lead to 3-0 with his 28th goal of the season. Nugent-Hopkins passed the puck up ice for Hyman who feathered it to Draisaitl for a one-time snapshot that went five-hole on Martin…

The Canucks managed to get on the board before the end of the second period. Quinn Hughes hit Elias Pettersson at Edmonton’s blueline with a nice breakout pass and Andrei Kuzmenko snuck in on a breakaway and sniped a shot past Stuart Skinner…

Early in the third period, the Canucks made the score 3-2 when a point shot from J.T. Miller made its way through a screened Skinner…

Zach Hyman appeared to make the score 4-2 for the Oilers later in the third, but it was called back on a coach’s challenge for goaltender interference. A few minutes later, Nugent-Hopkins put the game out of reach with an empty-net goal…
