For the first time in over five years, the Nashville Predators beat the Edmonton Oilers in regulation time.
Edmonton scored two goals on the power play but got blanked at even strength and Jack Campbell allowed five goals on 34 shots in the loss. Below are the highlights from the game.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS ARE PRESENTED BY BETWAY

The Oilers opened the scoring about halfway through the first period when the team’s second power-play unit converted. Darnell Nurse fired a shot from the top of the faceoff circle that bounced off of the post and goaltender Kevin Lankinen’s pad and into the net.
The announcement of the goal had just started when the Predators tied the game at 1-1 just 25 seconds later. Filip Forsberg carried the puck around Edmonton’s net and Jack Campbell wasn’t able to move from post to post quickly enough.
FILIP. FORSBERG.
Nashville pulled ahead 2-1 just 23 seconds into the second period. Forsberg threw a wrist shot on the net and Ryan O’Reilly won a puck battle in front of Nurse and buried the rebound past Campbell.
🗣️ OH OH OH O’REILYYYYY
Evander Kane was penalized a few minutes later for high-sticking and the Preds added to their lead while on the man advantage. Forsberg got the puck down low and threw a cross-crease pass to O’Reilly, who fired a one-timer past Campbell to make the score 3-1.
🗣️ AUTO PARTS
The Oilers converted on a power-play opportunity of their own a few minutes later to bring them back to within one goal. Evan Bouchard wired a one-timer from the point that Zach Hyman deflected past Lankinen to make the score 3-2.
bouch 💣 gets one back.
The Preds regained their two-goal lead late in the second frame. Thomas Novak got sprung on a partial break and managed to roof a shot over Campbell while racing in on Edmonton’s net.
IT’S FROSTY TIME IN TENNESSEE
The Oilers weren’t able to score in the third period and O’Reilly completed his hat trick to ice the game with a 5-2 score. Nurse accidentally tucked the puck into his own net but the play continued and O’Reilly wound up burying a shot from alone in the slot for good measure.
