Happy 18th birthday to Big Georges’ hat trick!

If you were a fan of the Oilers in the early 2000s, you were a fan of Big Georges.
Georges Laraque was one of the most feared fighters in the league on top of being a gritty, hard working, energy player who could get the bench and the fans fired up. Exactly 18 years ago today, he had likely his most memorable game as an Edmonton Oiler.
Laraque buried three goals and beat the crap out of Steve McKenna helping the Oilers to a commanding 6-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings. Recently, Laraque criticized the Oilers and their lack of heart, which is a very accurate interpretation from somebody who knew what it meant to battle hard.
The team might not be easy to watch right now, so enjoy three goals and a scrap from one of the most lovable Oilers in franchise history.
