I have learned that Jesse Puljujarvi will have season ending hip surgery next week. He went for a second opinion on Tuesday and based on the decision to have surgery, they got the same diagnosis.
It sounds like he should make a full recovery and be skating by the end of the summer.
We will have more info when it comes out, and thankfully this will put an end to the ridiculous assumption that Puljujarvi’s agent only asked for a second opinion so Puljujarvi wouldn’t be sent to the minors.
That would have been extremely unprofessional.
I didn’t understand why his agent would mention a trade the morning of a game when he knew his client was injured. It wasn’t wise in my eyes, but he wasn’t going to advice his client to fake an injury.
But Puljujarvi will have surgery, and hopefully for his sake there are no complications, he has a speedy recovery and will be able to train and come to camp ready to compete for a spot in the top nine.
The Oilers need him to keep developing and he needs to keep fine tuning his game.
