Joakim Nygard and Mike Green will be ready if the 2019-20 season resumes

The Edmonton Oilers will have a fully healthy lineup if the 2019-20 season resumes. According to Dave Tippett, both Joakim Nygard and Mike Green will be ready to play if the season gets underway as the league hopes.
Green and Nygard are the only Oilers currently on the Injured Reserve. Green got hurt in just his second game after being acquired from the Detroit Red Wings at the trade deadline, suffering a sprained MCL after an awkward collision with Chandler Stephenson. Nygard has been on the Injured Reserve since late-January as he underwent surgery to repair a broken hand.
The big “if” here is whether or not the season will actually be resumed. It’s clear the NHL has every intention of finishing off the season, even if it means jumping straight into the playoffs with an expanded field with games going as far back as August. But, at this stage, it’s impossible to say if restrictions stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic will be lifted in the United States and Canada that allow for large-scale gatherings.
If playoffs do end up happening, we’ll be seeing teams rolling out much healthier and well-rested rosters than usual. Teams would obviously be a bit rusty from the pause, but, in most cases, teams would also be able to dress their ideal rosters, which would lead to some really good hockey.
