Drai-Pod-Kap line is the first line right now. They need to be with Bouchard. Whatever Mcdavid is doing needs to be figured out now. The depth is what is consistent with this team and the coaching doesn’t what to rely on it.

‘Quenneville is eating him alive’: Oilers fans react to Game 2 loss to the Ducks

Like after every loss, Edmonton Oilers fans will be quick to dissect what went wrong. It’s no surprise, as the fanbase has high expectations and standards, and when they are not met, they will be vocal about it.
After Edmonton took a 6-4 beating by the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night, that’s what happened. Fans stormed social media to express their displeasure with the team’s performance, taking aim at star players and the coaching staff.
Knoblauch is being categorically outcoached and outclassed and nobody is talking about it. Special teams, 5 on 5 rush, usually strengths of the Oilers have been obliterated all series. Quenneville is eating him alive. – Leon wetsaitl via XI’d start Jarry in game 3 but I’m pretty sure Knoblauch has banished him already. Ingram gave up 2 garbage rebounds in game 1 then 3 bad goals in game 2. Needs some kind of reset. – Oilingoal via X
Can people accept that mcdavid is playing fine and maybe the Anaheim D and back pressure are doing an exceptional job at defending him? They’re locked in on him so hard that it’s opening up opportunities for other lines. He’s fine. His points will come
I have been far more defensive of the coaching than some here, but KK needs to get his head in the game. There's lots of on-ice stuff to critique, but the bench is not free from criticism tonight.
Fans have every right to be disappointed in the team’s play. It’s also unusual to see both Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard held pointless after two games, considering they led the team in points during the regular season. But we’re in the playoffs now, and this is when fans expect the stars to step up.
I feel like people are forgetting that the Ducks’ type of play never lasts in the playoffs, as is usually the case with younger teams that don’t have experience. The team with more experience figures it out eventually. To compensate, Quenneville will continue to overplay Carlson, Trouba, Gauthier, etc. Until they’re burnt out and we get the upper hand. Plus, they did kinda lucky last night that we had a glitched-out McDavid. – TheMapleGhoul via InstagramGame a piece, and going on the road. We were worse off last year and made it to the finals. – 4k_frenchie via InstagramPanic button is NOT being waved right now guys, this is a little slump and somehow we stayed in it. Holy s**t we’ve seen so much worse, some of y’all gotta chill. Is anyone really gonna bet on McDavid continuing to not be able to make passes?! – Benetsmartin via InstagramWhere is Olympic McDavid? He’s actually been our worst player so far in this series. – Carter_flor_7 via InstagramWoodcraft knows the style of Edmonton’s PP and their video team instructs the Ducks to use their sticks as Edmonton has a passing PP. shoot screen and rebounds or tips will bring a W. Along with serious forecheck. – Jay Schacker via FacebookOilers deserved that loss and the others coming their way. I’ve never seen a team so obsessed with passing. So many open lanes, open slot chances and good looks, but they pass instead of taking the shot. Are you that stupid? Prine example…. beginning of third period PP, McPass and Bouchard where in daylight in front of Dostal numerous times with great shot chances but elected to pass, which always gets intercepted. Then when they do shoot it’s a poor percentage shot. – Tony MC via Facebook
If there’s one thing we’ve learned in this series after two games, it’s that you cannot underestimate this young, skilled Ducks team. While they may lack experience, so did the 2017 Oilers, and like them, they had a mix of veteran players who’ve been to the dance before. You have to give credit where credit is due; they’ve been trading blow for blow with these Edmonton Oilers.
Neither team will ever be out of a game in this Ducks / Oilers series - no matter the score.
People completely ragging on McDavid bc he has had a couple rough games have seemed to forgot that this guy has put the team on his back countless times in the regular season and playoffs. I have complete faith in our captain and any real oiler fan should as well. – Shane Donison via XI wonder if the coaching staff can create a new strategy for once in their careers. The PP is stale and repetitive, McDavids drop pass entry with speed has been telegraphed on hours of game tape. Time to try something new boys, at least the depth players are doing something. – Daulton via XOutcoached. Knoblauch is so exposed and these injuries to RNH, McDavid make everyone look invisible like there’s more Ducks on the ice than Oilers. The Oilers needed to hire Quennville. They would have a Cup by now. – Roshan Nelson via X
The Oilers will need to get more creative if they want a better chance of winning this series, especially on special teams. But if there is one takeaway the Oilers have given us over the past few seasons, it is that you can never count them out or underestimate them.
Now, we shift our attention to Anaheim, where the Ducks host Games 3 and 4 this weekend, with both sides hoping to enter Game 5 next Tuesday with a series lead.
