In late January, Adam Larsson would miss some time due to personal reasons. We later found out that the Larsson family had suffered a terrible loss with the passing of his father. In total, Larsson would miss eight games before returning to game action with his teammates. This morning, it was announced that he will be heading back to Sweden for his father’s funeral and to spend some much needed time with his family.
At the moment, Larsson is expected to miss two games for the Oilers which means that he will likely be back for Monday’s game against the Coyotes. That said, it would not be surprising if Larsson deservedly took an extra couple of days to spend with his family during this difficult time. Regardless of what happens, we would like to send out our thoughts, prayers, and best wishes to the Larsson family as they move forward.
There are often times when real life means far more than sports and this would certainly qualify. We wish Adam and his family the best and hope that they find peace and comfort in each other.
