Two Edmonton Oilers will be representing Sweden at the 4 Nations Face-Off in February.
Though the official announcement for the Tre Kronors’ roster was scheduled for later in the day on Wednesday, the Swedish news outlet Expressen had the scoop early. Here’s who’s suiting up for Team Sweden…

Ekholm is a top option on a very deep Swedish blueline that features former Norris Trophy winners in Erik Karlsson and Victor Hedman along with a potential future one in Rasmus Dahlin. The 34-year-old has 10 points in 25 games logging 23:07 on average for the Oilers this season and has been involved with both special teams units.
The addition of Arvidsson comes as somewhat of a surprise given the winger’s injury troubles. The 31-year-old has five points in 16 games with the Oilers this season and hasn’t played since mid-November because of an undisclosed issue. He missed all but 18 games in 2023-24 playing for the Los Angeles Kings with a back injury.
Both Ekholm and Arvidsson have plenty of experience playing on the international stage. Ekholm won gold with Sweden at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in 2008 and earned a bronze at the 2010 World Juniors while leading the tournament in plus-minus. Arvidsson won silver at both the Hlinka and the WJC and both players were on Sweden’s gold medal-winning team at the 2018 World Hockey Championships.
