The first period just wrapped up in the Oilers/Canucks game and the Edmonton Oilers are leading with a healthy 2-0 lead. The goals came from both Alex Chiasson and Zack Kassian and they were both beauties. With an assist on Kassian’s goal, Connor McDavid reached 60 on the season and has reached another big career milestone. Buckle in, cause I’m going to tell you all about it.
You read that right! This is McDavid’s third straight season of putting up 60+ points, and he’s the first Oiler player to do so since Mark Messier did it. This is one of many achievements Connor McDavid has hit this season that’s compared him to the Old Boys Club and I can’t get enough of it. McDavid has a total of 93 points so far this season and is sure to hit 100 soon. There’s quite a gap between him and the first place Kucherov, but you can never count Connor out of anything.
The assist itself was another one for the highlights, and Kassian’s goal on the play gave him is fourth in as many games. Things are looking up for the Oilers right now and let’s hope they continue the strong play for the rest of the game.
