If you take away Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl since they were both included, that means over half the participants from the West think Edmonton is their biggest foe right now.</p>

Look no further than Quinton Byfield, who has seen his <a href="https://oilersnation.com/2024/07/27/off-season-review-the-los-angeles-kings-remain-buried-in-the-pacific-division/">Los Angeles Kings lose three consecutive playoff series</a> to them since 2022.</p>

<p>The only player that was on a team that beat the Oilers in the postseason was Jack Eichel who did so during the 2023 playoffs en route to the Golden Knights capturing the Stanley Cup. Vegas had a fairly pedestrian run to winning the title that year but it was Edmonton that proved to be their biggest challenge that spring. Given both teams are expected to not only be among the top teams in the Pacific Division but also among the favourites to reach the Finals, it is understandable why Eichel feels Edmonton is a big rival currently.</p>

These are two teams the Oilers will also have to overcome if they hope to get another shot at hoisting the Cup.</p>
