Kane was injured earlier in the month when the Oilers were on the road against the Detroit Red Wings. According to our own Jason Gregor, Kane&#8217;s dealing with a rib injury that was aggravated against the Rangers.

On Oilersnation Everyday on Wednesday, Frank Seravalli said that Kane could miss some time.
&#8220;It sounds like Evander Kane is going to miss a little bit of time,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We&#8217;re talking maybe the potential for two weeks. It&#8217;s possible he works his way back before then.
&#8220;What he&#8217;s dealing with is a really painful injury that could keep him out for just a little while. Nothing too concerning, but I just wanted to add that.
&#8220;It doesn&#8217;t change at all what the Oilers are thinking deadline perspective-wise, but at least getting to that point, it&#8217;s at least a consideration.&#8221;
Kane has appeared in 42 games for the Oilers this year scoring nine goals and 19 points. He&#8217;s appeared in 10 games since returning from his wrist injury scoring four goals and six points.
<h1>Another Kane and about Karlsson</h1>
Some news about another Kane, as the Oilers have reportedly pitched forward Patrick Kane on joining the team.
This, according to Elliotte Friedman, who dropped the note in his latest 32 Thoughts column. Here&#8217;s hit full hit on the Oilers:

I do think they’ve made a pitch for Patrick Kane, but it’s up to the winger to decide. It was reported yesterday that he would be open to waiving his no-movement clause to join the Oilers, but Friedman&#8217;s report is disheartening. Watching Cody Ceci gift the Flyers a game-changing goal in the second further cemented my feelings that the Oilers are right in making a puck-moving defenceman a key acquisition.
In terms of Patrick Kane, this one is really interesting to me. No doubt about his defensive struggles, but my lord the skill he possesses would be unreal in the Oilers&#8217; top six. If they want to play &#8220;we&#8217;re just going to outscore you,&#8221; than Kane is a great addition.
