Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl was fined $5,000 by the NHL Tuesday for a &#8220;dangerous trip&#8221; on Islanders forward Bo Horvat.

The incident, seen below, happened halfway through the second period, where Draisaitl crosschecked Horvat in the back of his legs, sending him to the ice. Draisaitl was issued a two-minute minor for tripping on the play.

After breaking through with his first goal of the season Saturday night against the Seattle Kraken, Oilers forward Dylan Holloway is expected to miss &#8220;months&#8221; after suffering an injury Monday night.
It happened during the Oilers&#8217; 4-1 win over the New York Islanders when Holloway lost an edge, colliding hard into the boards. His left knee was the first part of his body to make contact with the boards, and according to our own Jason Gregor, he is expected to miss an extended period.
A clip shared on <a href="https://twitter.com/RyanMcLeoder/status/1724263364858135004">Twitter</a> Monday showed Holloway skating between whistles, kicking his left heel upwards, appearing to try and stretch out his whatever injury ailed him.

Holloway, 22, was drafted by the Oilers 14th overall in 2020, but his early career has been plagued with injury. In his final NCAA season, he suffered a wrist injury that ailed him into his first year of pro hockey in 2021-22, a campaign that saw him score eight goals and 22 points in 33 AHL games.
Last year, Holloway started with the Oilers, scoring three goals and nine points across 51 games. The club opted to send him to the American League in the New Year, but he suffered a shoulder injury in his first season with the team. Once he returned, he scored seven goals and 10 points in 12 games.
Like others on the Oilers, this season had been a struggle for Holloway, but his two previous games showed signs of him turning his season around.
