Fresh off a gold medal victory at the 2020 World Junior championships, Edmonton Oilers prospect Raphael Lavoie has been traded in the QMJHL.
The big winger, who scored two assists in seven World Junior games, was traded from the Halifax Mooseheads to the Chicoutimi Saguenéens.
In exchange for Lavoie, who led the Mooseheads with 44 points in 30 games, Halifax acquired a 1st and 2nd round draft pick in 2020 belonging to Charlottetown and Sherbrooke respectively and Chicoutimi’s 2nd and 3rd round picks in 2021.
The 6’4, 198 lb. Lavoie was drafted by the Oilers in the 2nd round of the 2019 NHL entry draft and finishes his career in Halifax with 189 points in 191 games. During the 2019 President Cup Playoffs, Lavoie set a franchise record with 20 goals and sits third in franchise history with 17 career game-winning goals.
Lavoie’s first game with the Saguenéens will be Friday as they visit Halifax.
