When the Edmonton Oilers broke out the line blender against the Utah Hockey Club on New Year’s Eve, it worked out in their favour. They played with jump, and secured a 4-1 win to close out 2024.
Their top line featured Connor McDavid centring Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Connor Brown, and the trio accounted for two quick goals in the second period. Now, heading into Friday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks, the Oilers are keeping them together, and blending up some of the other lines, according to Oilersnation’s Jason Gregor.
The second line of Leon Draisaitl, Vasily Podkolzin and Viktor Arvidsson will remain the same, but things get interesting on the third line. Mattias Janmark will draw into centre ice again, flanking Kasperi Kapanen and Zach Hyman.
Edmonton’s fourth line will see Adam Henrique with Jeff Skinner and Corey Perry.

Edmonton’s blue line will remain the same as it did against Utah, while Stuart Skinner will get the start.
How long these lines will last is yet to be seen, however, as Gregor indicated that there could be more changes in-game against the Ducks.
