The Edmonton Oilers go into the battle tonight versus the Buffalo Sabres, as they seek out their second win in a row. It was only a couple of weeks ago that these two teams met, which ended in bizarre fashion. Owen Power thought he had ended the game in overtime and both teams left the ice. However, the goal was ruled offside meaning the teams had to return. After the delay, the Sabres ended up winning the game in a shootout.
On Tuesday, the Oilers did not make it easy on themselves but they beat the Montreal Canadiens at Rogers Place. Leon Draisaitl scored the game winner in overtime. With that win, they stayed within eight points of the Vancouver Canucks for first in the Pacific Division, with three games in hand.
