The Edmonton Oilers trip to Ontario could not have gone worse.
On Saturday night, the Oilers went into the Scotiabank Centre to face the Toronto Maple Leafs. Despite an early powerplay, the Maple Leafs grabbed the opening goal and it didn’t stop from there. Toronto scored five unanswered goals before the Oilers finally responded in the third period. However, despite scoring three in the final frame, Edmonton couldn’t find the two points.
Moving onto Sunday, Edmonton came out flying against the Ottawa Senators. Adam Henrique got the scoring started for the Oilers but a poor penalty kill, which was a trend throughout the game, led to the Sens tying the game. Edmonton continued to show there skill with two goals from Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman, for his 50th goal of the season, gave them a 3-1 lead. However, poor penalty killing again, lead the Senators getting right back into the game and winning 5-3.
