Oilersnation Pre Game Podcast – Edmonton Oilers vs Carolina Hurricanes

By Hernan Salas

The Edmonton Oilers close out their four-game homestand tonight versus the Carolina Hurricanes. Edmonton is 1-1-1 so far and will look to get back in the win column after a 3-2 loss to the @Buffalo Sabres on Sunday.
Easier said than done as the Canes have owned the Oilers in the last few seasons going 4-1 in the last five games and sweeping both games last season. Coach Tippett juggled the lines ahead of tonight’s match-up which means Connor McDavid & Leon Draisaitl will play on different lines. Drai will play with Nugent-Hopkins on the second line, and McDavid will be flanked by both Kassian and Nygard.
Tonight will a special teams battle as the Canes have 3rd ranked PK while the Oilers are ranked second on the PK, so something has to give right? Also, look out for Jordan Staal as he has 15 pts in 14 career games vs the Oilers and Neal leads the way with 16 pts in 22 career games against the Canes.
Puck drop is set for 7 PM from Rogers Place.
