Oilersnation Pre Game Podcast – Edmonton Oilers vs Winnipeg Jets

Mar 11, 2020, 16:00 EDTUpdated: Mar 11, 2020, 15:54 EDT
The Oilers will play host to the Winnipeg Jets for the second time in just 12 days tonight as they continue their four-game homestand. Since the last time these two met, the Oilers have gone 3-1-1, in large part thanks to their goaltending while the Jets have won three in a row and have only allowed three goals against in that span.
The Oilers will be trying to make life a little easier on their goaltenders, who have faced 168 shots in their last four games. They’ve surrendered 40+ shots in three of their last four while the Jets haven’t surrendered 40 shots since February 1st. Edmonton will need to be much better at even strength tonight if they want to win but they’ll also need to get some looks on the powerplay. They’ve only had two attempts in the last three games. It was a close game when they met at the end of February and I expect the same tonight.
Connor McDavid is expected to be back tonight, which is a very positive sign, and Mike Smith is expected to get the start. I go through all the lineup notes in today’s Pre Game Podcast (pres. by YEG Burger)! You can download it right here in the article or by heading to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Google Play!
