Oilersnation Pre Game Podcast – Game Two vs Chicago

Aug 3, 2020, 13:30 EDTUpdated: Aug 3, 2020, 14:07 EDT
Normally, I wouldn’t call game two of a playoff series a must-win, but this isn’t a normal playoff series. In a quick, best of five series, it’s not a stretch to say that the Oilers season might come down to how tonight’s game against the Blackhawks plays out. After laying an egg in the series opener, the Oilers know they need to be better.
They didn’t get great goaltending, they couldn’t generate a sniff of offence at even-strength, and they took too many trips to the box. Even though all of that went wrong, they still only lost by two goals. Are there still some reasons to be positive heading into this game? Absolutely. I shared a few during today’s podcast and also touched on some areas where the Oilers need to get much better if they want to even this series up. I also went through some potential lineup changes and gave you the always popular Oddsshark Betting Report!
Game one was not a lot of fun, but can we really complain? Hockey is back and tonight, we get another chance to watch an Edmonton Oilers playoff game. It feels good.
