The first week of the NHL season is almost in the books, and that means we had plenty to talk about on the brand new Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio. On today’s show, we’re talkin’ about why the Oilers can’t seem to start on time, previewed tonight’s matchup with the Sabres, and a whole lot more.
To kick off this week’s podcast, we got this week’s show we got started with a look at the first two games of the season, and whether or not the sloppy starts should have any of us feeling nervous. For Rick and me, getting nervous about what’s happened so far doesn’t make a whole lot of sense since we’re just getting started. For Tyler, Dan, and Liam, they’re not exactly nervous about anything yet, but they do have concerns about a few different areas. Changing gears, we looked ahead at tonight’s game against the Buffalo Sabres, and what we should expect from an up-and-coming team filled with talented youngsters. Next up, we looked at Markus Niemelainen being recalled in place of Brad Malone and whether or not the big Finn can make a difference despite playing limited minutes. Lastly, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a new word association segment that… was… well… interesting, and a conversation about how getting Ryan Nugent-Hopkins going could make a world of difference for this hockey team.
