It’s Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today’s podcast, the fellas discussed the NHL Draft, the latest Darnell Nurse rumours, line combinations, and more.

We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the NHL Draft and which takes we’ve had over the years that aged the best and worst. Whether it’s thinking certain picks were going to be slam dunks, or believing that the Oilers ruined guys who were never going to make it, the boys discussed some of their favourite draft stories either good or bad. As you’ll hear, expecting the boys on the podcast to correctly predict the draft or how these players will work out is basically impossible.

Shifting gears, the guys continued on with a recap of the latest in the Darnell Nurse rumours, and whether the long-time defenceman will still be with the Oilers through the weekend. While many Oilers fans thought the draft would be a reasonable time to move Nurse, the reality is that this move might take a while to get something done. The guys also discussed whether or not there is a chance that he doesn’t get traded at all? They also discussed the Oilers’ situation between the crease, and whether it’s acceptable or not if the tandem is a Ingram/Jarry tandem again.

Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another round of betting talk, discussed Canada’s matchup against South Africa at the World Cup, worked through another round of Ask the Idiots questions, and finally, Hot and Cold Performers. While this week’s episode followed the same general format, the Friday episode of ONR was all over the map. Even so, the boys had a lot of fun working through a bunch of Oilers stories despite not a whole lot happening.
