It’s Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today’s podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers’ moves at the NHL Trade Deadline, previewed Friday’s game against Carolina, line combinations, trade targets, and more.
We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about why the Oilers just cannot seem to win a third game in a row. Despite having 12 opportunities to do so, the team has only won three times in a row once all season. While there’s no specific explanation for the stat, Baggedmilk asked the boys to try to figure things out and put their finger on the problem anyway.
Shifting gears, the guys looked at Leon Draisaitl’s injury and wondered whether he’ll be ready to go before the initial timeline. According to Stan Bowman, the team is hopeful that Draisaitl will be able to return before the end of the regular season and will not require surgery, but as you’ll hear, the boys are cautiously optimistic. Either way, it will be fascinating to see how the final month or so of the season has played out.
Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season quickly winding down, the guys spent the bulk of the podcast moving through a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that’s the way things go on the Friday episode of ONR.
