It’s Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today’s podcast, the fellas discussed NHL free agency, the Darnell Nurse trade, Freddie Andersen, line combinations, and more.
We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about what was the most surprising move in the early days of free agency. Whether it was the Darnell Nurse trade to San Jose, or Freddie Andersen signing in Edmonton for a scratch ticket, or Ryan Shea coming to town as a potential Nurse replacement, the Oilers got a lot of work done on day one without necessarily breaking the bank. As you’ll hear, the boys all had different ideas about what went well and what might have been the best move of all.
Shifting gears, the guys continued with the breaking news that dropped before the podcast after the Philadelphia Flyers put a massive offer sheet down on Leo Carlsson from the Anaheim Ducks. Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another round of betting talk, discussed Canada’s matchup against Morocco at the World Cup, worked through another round of Ask the Idiots questions, and finally, Hot and Cold Performers. While this week’s episode followed the same general format, the Friday episode of ONR was all over the map. Even so, the boys had a lot of fun working through a bunch of Oilers stories after what was a very busy start to free agency.
