There’s a clear divide between the playoff teams and the bottom feeders in the Pacific Division.
Oh, and then there’s the Calgary Flames, who are in the final Wild Card spot but have been playing uninspired the past few games. Speaking of which, how have the Pacific Division teams fared since the last Pacific Division update a couple of weeks ago? Let’s find out!

Vegas Golden Knights

It’s clear that the Vegas Golden Knights are one of the top teams in the Pacific Division, as they are 15-7-3 and lead the way with 33 points. Since the last Pacific Division Update, they are 5-3-1, with wins over the Utah Hockey Club, Ottawa Senators, Montréal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, and Winnipeg Jets.
Leading the Golden Knights in points is Jack Eichel, who has 36 points and eight goals in 25 games. Ivan Barbashev and Pavel Dorofeyev each have 12 goals, while Brett Howden has 10 goals. The injured Mark Stone has six goals and 21 points in 13 games, while 13 Golden Knights players have double-digit points.
Goaltending hasn’t been good for the Knights this season. Adin Hill has started the majority of games and has an .894 save percentage and a 2.85 goals-against average. Ilya Samsonov started the season off well but has an .892 save percentage and a 3.40 goals-against average in nine games.

Los Angeles Kings

The Los Angeles Kings have been sticking around all season, as they have a 14-8-3 record with 31 points in 25 games. Over their past seven games, they are 5-2-0 with wins over the Detroit Red Wings, Seattle Kraken, Winnipeg Jets, Anaheim Ducks, and Ottawa Senators. They also lost 7-2 to the San Jose Sharks, for some reason.
Anže Kopitar leads the team in points, as he has eight goals and 29 points. Adrian Kempe has the team lead in goals with 12 goals and 24 points, while Alex Laferriere has 11 goals and 20 points. Former Oiler Warren Foegele has six goals and 11 points.
Darcy Kuemper has played 10 games but is currently on Injured Reserve, leading David Rittich to play the majority of the games. This season, he has an .887 save percentage and a 2.48 goals-against average in 16 games played.

Vancouver Canucks

The reigning Pacific Division champions have regressed a bit, as they have a 13-7-3 record, as well as a 10-2-0 road record. Since Nov. 15, they are 5-3-0 with wins over the Chicago Blackhawks, Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, and Detroit Red Wings.
Quinn Hughes is on his way to another Norris Trophy, as he has five goals and 28 points in 23 games this season. Conor Garland and Elias Pettersson each have 21 points, while Jake DeBrusk’s 10 goals lead the team. J.T. Miller is still out of action as he has six goals and 16 points in 17 games.
Kevin Lankinen became the first goaltender in NHL history to win his first 10 road games to start a season with a 5-4 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday. This season, he has a .907 save percentage and a 2.65 goals-against average in 17 games played while Thatcher Demko gears up to return.

Edmonton Oilers

It looks as if the Edmonton Oilers are back in form, as they are 4-2-1 since Nov. 15 with wins over the Ottawa Senators, New York Rangers, Utah Hockey Club, and Colorado Avalanche.
Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid are once again the class of the league. The former has 17 goals and 32 points in 24 games, while the latter has 12 goals and 31 points in 21 games. Defenceman Evan Bouchard has six goals and 18 points, while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has two goals in two games. Shoutout to Mattias Janmark as well, as he has one goal and 10 points in 24 games this season.
Goaltending hasn’t been great for the Oilers this season. Stuart Skinner has an .887 save percentage and a 3.09 goals-against average in 16 games played. Calvin Pickard has been better, as he has an .895 save percentage and a 2.50 goals-against average in nine games.

Calgary Flames

The Calgary Flames were inevitably going to come back down to earth, as they now have a 12-9-4 record with 28 points, holding on to the final Wild Card spot. They started a four-game win streak on Nov. 15, but have lost their last four to go 4-3-1 in that stretch. The Flames haven’t scored four or more goals since Oct. 13.
Obviously, scoring has been an issue for the Oilers’ little brother, as Nazem Kadri leads the team with 15 points and is tied for the team lead in goals with eight. Jonathan Huberdeau also has eight goals, while Rasmus Andersson and MacKenzie Weegar have 14 points and 13 points respectively.
Unlike the Oilers, goaltending has been strong for the Flames. Dustin Wolf looks like a legitimate Calder Trophy contender, as he has a .918 save percentage and a 2.59 goals-against average in 13 games played. Daniel Vladař has had the tougher assignments and has a .900 save percentage and a 2.87 goals-against average in 12 games played.

Anaheim Ducks

Moving to the three aquatic Pacific Division teams, The Anaheim Ducks have a 10-10-3 record for 23 points, tied for the bottom of the division. Since Nov. 15, they are 5-2-1 with wins over the Detroit Red Wings, Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks, Seattle Kraken, and Ottawa Senators.
Troy Terry leads the team with 19 points and is tied for the team lead in goals with six, with Frank Vatrano and Leo Carlsson also having six goals each. Scoring has been an issue for the Ducks, but they have eight players with double-digit points.
A large reason for the Ducks’ ability to tread water is their netminders. Lukáš Dostál has a .921 save percentage and a 2.73 goals-against average in 15 games played. On the other hand, John Gibson actually looks good for the first time in years, as he has a .922 save percentage and a 2.32 goals-against average in six games played.

Seattle Kraken

There is one team with a sub .500 record since the last Pacific Division Update; the Seattle Kraken. Since Nov.15, they are 3-5-0 with wins over the New York Islanders, Nashville Predators, and Anaheim Ducks. Like the Los Angeles Kings, they lost a barn burner to the San Jose Sharks, falling 8-5.
Jared McCann has been the Kraken’s best player this season, as he has 10 goals and 23 points to lead the team in both departments. Brandon Montour has seven goals and 16 points, while Chandler Stephenson and Ryker Evans each have 16 points as well. Oliver Bjorkstrand has six goals and 14 points, while Jaden Schwartz has five goals and 14 points.
Joey Daccord has been the Kraken’s best netminder, as he has a .912 save percentage and a 2.56 goals-against average in 17 games. Philipp Grubauer has not been good, as the German netminder has an .862 save percentage and a 3.62 goals-against average in eight games played.

San Jose Sharks

Are the San Jose Sharks… decent? So far this season, they are 9-13-5, but that was after a disastrous 0-7-2 start. Since Nov. 15, they are 4-3-2 with wins over the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, and the Seattle Kraken (twice).
The first overall pick in the 2024 draft, Macklin Celebrini, was named the league’s first star last week, and he now has eight goals and 14 points. Mikael Granlund has 10 goals and 28 points in 25 games, while William Eklund has four goals and 22 points. Defenceman Jake Walman has four goals and 19 points and both Fabian Zetterlund and Tyler Toffoli have nine goals.
Mackenzie Blackwood had a tough game against the Senators, allowing four goals on 11 shots for a .936 save percentage, dropping it quite a bit. Still, he has a .906 save percentage and a 3 goals-against average in 16 games played.
