According to the team’s Twitter account, the Oilers have recalled Patrick Russell from the Bakersfield Condors while they wait for Valentin Zykov’s immigration/travel/visa issues to clear up.
On Sunday, the Oilers made a short announcement via their social channels and website that they have recalled Patrick Russell from the  Bakersfield Condors as they work through immigration/visa/travel delays for the newly acquired Valentin Zykov.
The release stated that Zykov will not be travelling with the team on their upcoming road trip to Dallas and St. Louis and that he remains a non-roster player as things get worked out. The Oilers claimed Zykov off waivers from the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday morning and it will be interesting to see how long these immigration issues take to resolve and when he’ll be able to make his debut.
As for Russell, he’s played in four games with the Oilers so far this season but has yet to get his first point while averaging to 8:46 of ice time. With the Condors, Russell has amassed five goals and six assists for 11 points in 12 AHL games.
