Right Wing: Samwise?

If the Edmonton Oilers run Leon Draisaitl at center, then the right-wing depth chart as it currently stands is long on opportunity and short on certainty. Let’s have a quick look at an important category to see what we’re dealing with at this position.
5X5 SCORING PER 60 MINUTES
RW’s with 200 or more minutes at 5×5
- Zack Kassian 1.74
- Ryan Strome 1.58
- Jesse Puljujarvi 1.45
- Anton Slepyshev 1.34
- Drake Caggiula 1.04
Iiro Pakarinen played only 117 minutes, posting a 2.04/60 scoring total at 5×5. Tyler Pitlick, who is a free agent, posted 2.22/60 in 300 minutes.
FREE AGENTS AND 5X5/60 SCORING
RW’s with 200 or more minutes at 5×5
- Justin Williams 2.24
- Sam Gagner 1.95
- Radim Vrbata 1.86
- Jaromir Jagr 1.75
- Alexander Radulov 1.67
- Drew Stafford 1.59
- P-A Parenteau 1.50
- Brian Gionta 1.47
- Nail Yakupov 1.31
- Alex Chiasson 1.29
- Beau Bennett 1.26
- Shane Doan 1.24
- Jarome Iginla 0.98
I prefer 5×5 numbers because it’s the hardest thing to do. If you’re posting crooked numbers here, then you are a good NHL player in my opinion. Sam Gagner had a great season on the power play but that 5×5 number is a sweet thing, too. I think Radim Vrbata, Drew Stafford and P.A. Parenteau probably fit and I imagine Jarome Iginla and Shane Doan will at least get a call from Edmonton. I threw Nail Yakupov on the list just for fun.
Sam Gagner. 4.66/60 on the 5×4 and he can get things done on the 5×5. If the Oilers could bring him in on an affordable deal, would you consider that a reasonable bet?
