News surrounding a new contract for @Edmonton Oilers F @Zack Kassian continues to come out with the latest identifying what the contract could look like.
During Saturday afternoon’s matinee against the Arizona Coyotes, Sportsnet’s Mark Spector said Kassian’s new contract is likely in the range of four years with an AAV of $3.25-3.5-million.
If signed, the contract would lock up Kassian, 28, until he’s 32 years old and see him take up roughly four percent of the team’s cap moving forward. The money would be a decent raise for the forward from the current $1.95-million he’s paid.
Yesterday, Spector reported that Oilers GM Ken Holland and Kassian agent, Rick Curran, were finding common ground in contract discussions and Spector’s latest report seems to suggest a deal could be close to completion.
@Zack Kassian is on pace for career highs in every offensive category this season having posted 13 goals and 15 assists in 44 games this year. He’s playing a career-high of 16:15 per game this season and is shooting at 18.1 per cent — well above his career-high of 11.9.
