<p>Well, that was a rout.</p>
<p>The Edmonton Oilers put the gas pedal down early Friday night in a 7-2 win over the Seattle Kraken.</p>
<p><a href="https://publish.oilersnation.com/2022/12/30/with-leon-draisaitl-out-of-the-lineup-edmonton-oilers-score-four-in-first-period-against-seattle-kraken/">It took all of five minutes for them to build a 3-0 lead</a> over the Kraken with Zach Hyman, Klim Kostin and Darnell Nurse all getting on the board. Hyman&#8217;s came on the powerplay where he tipped home a Connor McDavid pass, while Kostin snuck in back-door and made a beautiful move to put to puck in the top shelf. For Darnell Nurse, he blasted home a shot from the point.</p>
<p>Five minutes later, it was Jesse Puljujarvi who scored his fourth of the year to extend the lead to 4-0. Like he has all year, he got to the dirty area in front of the net and cashed in a no-look feed from McDavid.</p>
<p>Seattle got one back 30 seconds after <a href="https://publish.oilersnation.com/2022/12/30/watch-edmonton-oilers-forward-dylan-holloway-gets-in-first-nhl-fight/">Dylan Holloway had his first NHL fight</a>, as Daniel Sprong put one short side on Stuart Skinner.</p>
<p>The Oilers, however, responded well. Both Kostin and Hyman came back scoring their second goals of the night. Brandon Tanev would add one back for Seattle at the 7:33 mark.</p>
<p>McDavid must&#8217;ve felt a little bored because he made quick work of a scoring chance at the 10:43 mark of the third to score his 32nd goal of the year.</p>
