The Day After is brought to you by NHL line site Betway!
Not bad, boys.
Not bad at all.
After a frustrating, rejecting, all-around *insert adjective here* performance against the Seattle Kraken Tuesday, the Oilers held a players only meeting Wednesday ahead of practice. Whatever was said worked, because the Oilers played one of their better games of the year last night.
They came out strong and Leon Draisaitl got them on the board 9:26 into the game on the powerplay. Kailer Yamamoto got a big one short-handed at the 18:40 mark, and the Oilers were off to the races. Come the second the Islanders responded with Mat Barzal scoring at the 4:42 mark, while Dylan Holloway and Zach Hyman later got on the board.
While Cal Clutterbuck got on the board late in the period, it wasn’t enough for the Islanders to get close.
