“I was really excited about this season with @edmontonoilers but things have gotten a bit complicated,” he posted. “A few days ago I underwent surgery for my hip, which has been bothering me for awhile.
“My surgeon Dr. Terry is one of the best in the business so I’m confident that I will soon be back to doing what I love. 🏒 Thank you all for the support and happy Holidays !”
Jurco was signed by the Oilers this past offseason and played in 12 games with the club, scoring two points. He last played with the club on Nov. 6, and was waived a day later.
Unclaimed, Jurco was assigned to the Bakersfield Condors where in eight games he scored seven points.
According to Puckpeda, he signed to a one-year, $750,000 contract and will be a UFA at season’s end.
At the time of posting, neither the Oilers nor Condors have issued comment on Jurco’s surgery and a timetable for his return is not yet known.
