As the season wraps up for hockeyfights.com… and yes, I am aware that playoffs are ongoing, but we are in day three with no fights (MLB has had two in that same time)… I will be showing you the Top 25 fights of the year that was 2017-18.
Coming in at number 25:

25 – Mark Borowiecki vs Milan Lucic

Oct 14, 2017

The man who was voted the toughest player in the league by the rest of the NHL, versus a tough guy in his own right in Borowiecki. Mark had gone the night before in Calgary against Ferland and was probably a little beat up to be taking on the much more seasoned Lucic.

24 – Zac Rinaldo vs Nicolas Deslauriers

Nov 16, 2017

In case you haven’t peeked ahead, the list has some familiar faces on it for this Top 5. Rinaldo makes his first of two appearances in the 21-25 range with this spirit tilt. Deslauriers promptly says, “sit down”.

23 – Erik Johnson vs Zac Rinaldo

Dec 23, 2017

Old time hockey in this one. If Rinaldo wasn’t aware before, he knows now, you don’t take liberties with superstars in Colorado. Well you can if you’re a tough guy like Zac. Girard comes in and promptly loses that “fight”. Then Johnson gives it a shot. He fares slightly better.
Familiar faces, and familiar moments. Bieksa has tried it before in Vancouver; he landed it this year against Gudas. In this one Bieksa once more unloads the new superman punch. Unreal manoeuver to pull off on skates.
The superman punch, round two, as Bieksa again tries to shock victim with the punch. Except Andreyoff knew this was coming this time, and that sets off a spirited bout.
What do you think of the ranking? One of the fights better than the others?
