Spinning off of a successful franchise that was created towards the end of the season, previewing the night’s match-up; The crew at Oilersnation is going to be bringing TWO weekly feature videos. The first of which we call the Tuesday Grind (name pending). A silly, fun time to shoot the breeze with the guys over at ON. Friday’s feature will be a MUCH more serious game of hockey in which we keep stats and play for keeps.
Today’s Tuesday Grind featured a 3 on 3 match-up between The Nation Chris (Eastern Mascots) and @Cooom (Western Mascots).
Things to watch out for: If you have yet to pick up a copy of NHL 18, or have been living under a rock, the lack of refereeing and general adherence to the rules is comical in this one. Chris takes so many runs at Dubnyk that you’d think he was the Yankees playing the Blue Jays. The juxtaposition of the mascots to the real players, and the ice surface is pretty an amazing thing to see. This size mismatch is no more evident than with the Montreal Expos Canadiens, Youppi. That giant fluffball looks out of place anywhere but on the Bell Centre concourse but there he is in a 3 on 3 hockey game — It’s really something to behold. His howitzers from the point are almost unstoppable as Cooom’s defence had no answer for him.
The outcome of this game was decided by the Moneypuck feature. Who takes it?
