Sometimes, you have to get lucky.
But sometimes, you have to be good and last night, that’s exactly what Bakersfield Condors defenceman Dmitri Samorukov was.
In a Friday afternoon game against the Henderson Silver Knights, Samorukov scored the game-winner with only five seconds left.
He caught a cross-ice pass from forward Adam Cracknell and walked from the point down to the right face-off circle before ripping a wrist shot home for a 3-2 Condors win.
It was only Samorukov’s second game of the season, but it’s clear his impact is being felt early.
