Did he have to go to the bathroom? Was his back ailing him? Did another injury pop up?

“Assume everything is good, haven’t heard any differently,” is what Vegas Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy said about Mark Stone’s potential availability for game one Wednesday.

This comes after the Golden Knights’ captain left practice early on Tuesday in discomfort. Video of Stone leaving the ice was shared on Twitter later that afternoon by FOX 5 Vegas’ Vince Sapienza.

Stone was seen hunched over with his stick across his thighs towards the Golden Knights’ bench. He slowly walked down behind the bench in clear discomfort.

It’s been a tough couple of seasons for Stone, who has had multiple surgeries on his back. In 2021-22, Stone missed 40 games due to a back injury that required surgery in May. This past year, however, Stone was out of Vegas’ lineup from Jan. 12 through the remainder of the regular season as he underwent another back surgery, but returned for the playoffs.

He did draw in for 43 games this season scoring 17 goals and 38 points and has made his presence felt in these playoffs.
