The Canadians and Finns will both close out their round-robin games Monday night.
With puck drop set for 4 p.m. MST, Canada will look to remain undefeated through the early stages of the World Juniors.
Game three of four for Canada came Saturday night, when a Michigan goal from Kent Johnson kick-started their offence enroute to a 5-1 win over Czechia. Canada has previous rolled through Latvia and Slovakia.
Tonight’s test will be the toughest yet for the Canadians taking on a Finnish team that’s had nearly as potent of an offence. The Finns have gone t2-1-0-0 so far beating every team they’ve faced while scoring 19 goals. Canada, meanwhile, is also undefeated scoring just two more goals.
Finland’s been led by A. Raty, K. Simontaival and J. Kemell, who have eight, seven and seven points each through three games. In net, L. Merilainen has backstopped Finland to two of three wins while posting a 1.92 GAA and a .913 save percentage.
The winner of tonight’s game will take top spot in Group A.
Lineups…
None seen as of yet, but Canada will likely roll out the same set of lines as they have all tournament long.
TONIGHT…
GAME DAY PREDICTION: Facing their toughest competition yet, Canada still manages to eek out a win in a one-goal game.
OBVIOUS GAME DAY PREDICTION: A two-point performance from Mason McTavish cements him as the highest scorer in the round-robin stage.
NOT-SO-OBVIOUS GAME DAY PREDICTION: Both Kent Johnson and Donovan Sebrango find the back of the net.
