Another day, another waiver-wire report.
This time, it’s @Alex Chiasson…
Chiasson on waivers for Oilers. This is so they can make more moves from taxi squad to active roster. Currently they have three goalies (imagine if they did that to start season), eight D-men and 12 forwards on active roster. #Oilers

Chiasson has been in and out of the lineup this season, appearing in just six of Edmonton’s 11 games. He hasn’t scored a goal or recorded a point and has a minus-five rating. Chiasson’s underlying numbers have also been poor, as he’s been on the ice for 24 shot attempts for and 47 against at even strength.
I can’t imagine that anybody will claim Chiasson, who owns a cap hit of $2,150,000 this season, so this move will ultimately afford the Oilers a slight savings against the salary cap and some more flexibility when it comes to moving players to and from the Taxi Squad to the active roster.
Jujhar Khaira, Joakim Nygard, Devin Shore, Patrick Russell, and Tyler Ennis have all cleared waivers thus far.
