Entering his third season with Boston College in 2018-19, Graham McPhee will look to continue his development and improve on his totals from last season. Considering BC has put plenty of effort into recruitment for the 2018-19 season, with players such as Oliver Wahlstrom and Jack McBain set to join the roster, McPhee will likely get a boost in the quality of his linemates. Combined with a likely increase in ice time and opportunity, McPhee has an excellent chance to improve the totals he posted in his first two seasons with the Eagles. While not yet signed by the Oilers, there are still two more seasons remaining at Boston College for McPhee which allows plenty of time for further development and viewings by the organization.

SCOUTING REPORTS

Graham McPhee is a teammate of Rasanen’s at Boston College. McPhee just wrapped up his second NCAA season and it was a year where he started to feel more comfortable. After scoring just twice as a freshman McPhee found the back of the net 12 times as a sophomore. Those who some him at development camp were pleasantly surprised.
David Gregory from Central Scouting broke down McPhee’s game before the draft:
Every time I see him I think he does more to give me the confidence to say this is the kind of player who will only get better. You immediately notice his compete level for sure. He goes out and gives you everything he has each shift. Then you start to see the hockey sense and how he’s capable of making the right play in almost every zone. Then there’s the skill, which might have been unexpected because there were other people on the team that potentially had more of that role on the team. To me, he’s a coach’s dream in a sense that you can play him a lot of situations and you know what you’re going to get out of him from his work ethic.
Phil Myre at ISS described McPhee’s game ahead of his draft year:
Average size forward, with average speed and average puck skills. He’s a hard worker, tenacious and good puck pursuit. Has good hockey sense and awareness of his surroundings. He plays a 200-foot game. He battles along the boards and can win battles but he’s really not a big player. He’s a potential role player at the NHL level.
