Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we jumped in with a look at last night’s loss to the Detroit Red Wings and whether we should be concerned about how flat the Oilers came out in that game. I mean, for 35ish minutes, the Oilers looked completely outmatched by a team they should beat on most nights, and that made for a frustrating evening for all of us that were watching. Even though I don’t think that loss means a whole lot in the end, that is certainly not the kind of game we want to see. We also spoke about the way Connor McDavid is handling himself, and if that means he’s starting to settle into the role of being a leader a little bit more than in previous seasons. While I’m not sure how comfortable he is in his spot, what I do know is that this guy is playing with all kinds of confidence right now and that creates a huge challenge for NHL defencemen. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s appearance with a look at Jesse Puljujarvi’s next contract and whether or not Ken Holland should try to long term with the Bison King. I say yes, but what will the Oilers say?
