Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we jumped in with a look at Mike Smith’s struggles in net for the Oilers and whether or not I think Ken Holland will pull the trigger on a move ahead of the NHL trade deadline. Personally, I actually don’t think a goalie trade will get done because I simply haven’t seen enough creativity in terms of roster movement that makes me believe it will get done. That’s not to say that I wouldn’t welcome a new goalie, but rather that I have my doubts. From there, we looked at the Oilers’ special teams that have really stunk up the place over the last little while and how it’s incredible to see how badly they’re struggling right now after starting the season so hot. Seeing as it’s mostly the same personnel with the exception of a few injured players, how can it possibly make sense that this team is struggling so badly?
