Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we jumped in with a look at the 34th anniversary of the Wayne Gretzky “trade” that saw the best player on earth sent to Los Angeles for an array of picks and players. Even though it’s been decades since that deal went down, there’s never any shortage of content when it comes to what happened at the time and in the years that have passed. From there we looked at the amount of former Maple Leafs that the Oilers currently have on their roster and whether we should be nervous about picking up players from a team that has done nothing since the invention of colour TVs. Personally, I see another former Leaf on the market that I would love to bring into Edmonton on a cheap one-year deal in Phil Kessel. Is it doable? Maybe. Probable? No. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a look at the Oilersnation Open that is coming up on August 19th and why you should absolutely enter a team to play if you haven’t already.
