It’s game day and the boys at The Locker Room wanted to bring me in for yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. For as long as this playoff run lasts, I’ll be jumping on the air with the boys for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off today’s segment, we jumped in with a look at the Evander Kane hit on Nazem Kadri and whether he deserved to be suspended or not. From there we looked at what the Oilers need to do to try and climb their way back into the series regardless of what the odds or history would suggest. For me, it’s about winning one shift at a time and trying to come out on top of as many battles as you possibly can. Talking about winning one shift at a time led us to Dylan Holloway and whether Woodcroft might be tempted to put the rookie into this game despite having no NHL experience to speak of at this stage of his career. Seeing as they obviously need a win and it’s going to take more than a goal or two to get there, I would absolutely consider putting Holloway in to see if he can make a difference. That said, I also don’t think it would be too wise to throw this kid into the fire and expect that he makes an instant impact, but at the same point, you never know until you try.
