Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we jumped in with a look at Kevin Lowe’s retirement that was announced yesterday, marking the end of an era around here as the 63-year-old had been synonymous with the organization for decades. Whether it was his time as a player or his run in management, I remembered Kevin Lowe fondly despite the ups and downs we may have had with him over the years. I mean, the guy does know a thing or two about winning, ya know? From there, we looked at the Phil Kessel to Edmonton rumours that have circled social media over the last couple of weeks, and I gave my take on whether or not I think the Oilers should chase the 1200+ game guy. As much fun as it would be to watch Kessel in an Oilers uniform and spend a season making memes about him, I just can’t see any way that Ken Holland would be able to fit him under the cap when there are still more pressing items to handle first. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a look at the Oilersnation Open that is coming up on August 19th and why you should absolutely enter a team to play if you haven’t already.
