Welcome back to another edition of the Betway Bets of the Day!
The Bets of the Day are brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
Our first bet of the day is on Zach Hyman to score 2 or more goals, with odds sitting at +450.
For the first time in his career, Zach Hyman is on the precipice of being a 50-goal scorer, and all he needs to do is score two more goals. Let’s bet on him to do that tonight in his hometown of Toronto.
Hyman’s gone against the Leafs four times since joining the Oilers, going pointless in three and have a one-goal, one-assist performance back in March 2023. The good news, however, is that the Oilers are loading up his line with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
When these three are on the ice together since Kris Knoblauch took over, they’re truly unstoppable, outscoring their opponents 19-4, across 201 minutes of 5v5 ice-time. Nothing needs to be said about the Oilers’ power play and how potent that can be, so this seems to be a move where the Oilers are looking to help Hyman hit the 50-goal mark tonight.
Our second bet of the day is taking the Edmonton Oilers on the moneyline, with odds sitting at -135.
Hyman spoke this week about how even more than hitting the 50-goal mark, he just wants to win in Toronto. The Oilers share this sentiment anytime they enter a game against anybody, but these are games the team always gets up for.
Despite that, the Oilers have struggled in Toronto recently. Dating back to the start of the 2019-20 season, they’ve gone 3-3-1 on the road against the Leafs, being outscored 26-23. To me, that just sounds like the Oilers are due for a big one tonight.
