The winning streak has come to an end.
The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Edmonton Oilers by a score of 7-4 on Thursday evening, led by a four-goal effort from captain Steven Stamkos and 53 saves from goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy.
Below are the highlights from the game.

The Lightning opened the scoring just over one minute into the game while Leon Draisaitl was in the penalty box for tripping. There was a scramble in front of Edmonton’s net and Steven Stamkos wired a shot past Stuart Skinner.
A few minutes later, Tyler Motte extended Tampa’s lead to 2-0. Darren Raddysh threw a shot on goal from the point that Skinner couldn’t control and Motte buried the rebound on his backhand.
The Lightning got a prime chance to extend their lead further with another power play opportunity early in the second period, but it was Darnell Nurse who scored a short-handed goal to get the Oilers on the board.
The Oilers knotted the score at 2-2 a few minutes later while on a power play of their own. The puck bounced around in the slot after a faceoff and Connor McDavid chipped it past Andrei Vasilevskiy.
Not long after, the Oilers capitalized on the man advantage again to give themselves their first lead of the game. Evan Bouchard fired a clapper from the point that was deflected into the net by Zach Hyman to make the score 3-2 for Edmonton.
The Lightning knotted the score at 3-3 a few minutes into the third period. Haydn Fleury put a shot on the net from the point, and Stamkos batted in the rebound out of mid-air for his second goal of the game.
Nikita Kucherov put the Lightning back on top later in the third period with his 20th goal of the season. He carried the puck into Edmonton’s zone and slipped past Cody Ceci before tucking the puck five-hole on Skinner.

Just over one minute later, Steven Stamkos completed his hat trick and put the Lightning up by a score of 5-3. Stamkos carried the puck into Edmonton’s zone and fired a wrist shot from just inside the blueline that fooled Skinner and went top shelf.
With the goaltender pulled for an extra attacker, the Oilers reduced Tampa’s lead to 5-4 with a goal from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.
That was as close as the Oilers would get, though, as Anthony Cirelli and Steven Stamkos both scored empty net goals to pad Tampa’s lead. The goal from Stamkos capped off the first four-goal game of his NHL career.
