Here we are on a Thursday afternoon with another fresh episode of Inside the Nation here to help you make sense of what’s going on with the Edmonton Oilers. As always, Dusty Nielson here is to be your guide as we navigate the treacherous waters that are the last 35 games of the NHL season.
To start off this week’s show, Nielson kicked things off with a shout out to Jujhar Khaira’s beautiful goal last night against the Canucks and feels like he’s not getting enough love. Next up, it wouldn’t be an episode of Inside the Nation if Dusty didn’t look at what’s going on with Jesse Puljujarvi and the lack of ice time he’s gotten recently. Has Hitchcock soured on the big Finn after being so bullish when he first got to town? Why does Kailer Yamamoto seem to get more leash than Pool Party? From there, Dusty takes a look at the way Ken Hitchcock deploys his lines and whether or not it makes sense to have so few forwards playing the bulk of the minutes. Can McDavid, Draisaitl, RNH, and Chiasson keep up with such heavy lifting? Lastly, we take a look at the trade deadline and try to figure out which realistic moves that Peter Chiarelli could actually pull off given the lack of cap space he has to work with.
