Welcome, Nation, to yet another episode of Inside the Nation with Dustin Nielson. It’s the twice-weekly web show where Dusty tries to make sense of all things Edmonton Oilers, and with the team being trapped in the darkness of a six-game losing streak there is certainly a lot to discuss.
To start off this week’s episode, Dusty comes out hot with a scorching trade take about the Identity Line where he discusses the trio’s trade value. Needless to say, he doesn’t expect a whole lot. Up next, Nielson previews tonight’s game against the Minnesota Wild and the impact Mikko Koivu’s absence will leave on their playoff chances. Considering the Wild Card race is as tight as it is, the Oilers will need every advantage they can get and having the Wild lose their best two-way player would certainly qualify. Luck or advantages aside, the Oilers need to figure out how to win hockey games regardless of who they’re playing because they’re still in the mix but they need to find a way to close games out. As always, Dusty covered a lot of ground today and you definitely do not want to miss it.
