The Edmonton Oilers extended their win streak to eight games last night after a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.
Things didn’t look pretty to start, though. Rookie sensation Connor Bedard scored a fantastic goal, which would’ve beat every goaltender in the NHL. However, that was the only ounce of success the Blackhawks found last night.
From then on, the Oilers took control of the game, entering the first intermission with a 2-1 lead. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins opened the scoring for Edmonton, tucking home his sixth of the season just under the crossbar. Shortly after, Sam Gagner scored the second with his fourth. In the back 40, Leon Draisaitl got a fortunate bounce that beat Petr Mrazek, and Zach Hyman sealed the win with a powerplay goal in the third.
Overall, it wasn’t the Oilers’ best game of this streak, but they found a way to secure two points, which is something they couldn’t do earlier in the year.
