Oilersnation Everyday: Nurse shouldn’t be fighting, a goaltending breakdown, and Pacific Division odds
4 months ago
Our new live show started today! It was a good time and the show started with a brief explanation of what it’s all about. I also had a big rant about something that really bothered me in the last Oilers’ preseason game. From there, Liam and I talked about some storylines that they’re keeping an eye on through the final couple of preseason games. We also welcomed in Mike McKenna to talk about the Oiler’s goaltending situation and the rest of the Pacific Division.
Darnell Nurse fighting twice in the preseason was annoying, and some listeners agreed with me. Regardless, having to watch this team go through eight preseason games is just flat-out frustrating. The Oilers need him healthy for all 82 games and having two scraps in one preseason game was an unnecessary risk. I also gave my thoughts on a few spots that are still up for grabs. From there, Mike McKenna joined the show to give us his thoughts on the Oilers goaltending duo. Jack Campbell and Stuart Skinner are an upgrade, but by how much? Mike answered that question and gave us his thoughts on the rest of the Pacific Division! We wrapped up the show with some listener questions about Samorukov, Broberg, and Benson. All three of those could very easily make this team and they’re making the decisions that the Oilers have to make pretty difficult.
